40 Therefore the ^aanger of the Lord was kindled against His people
And He ^babhorred His ^{▼▼ I.e. people

41 Then ^eHe gave them into the hand of the ^{▼▼ Or Gentiles}nations,
And those who hated them ruled over them.
42 Their enemies also ^goppressed them,
And they were subdued under their ^{▼▼ Lit hand}power.
